I Want To Buy An 800 Number

Toll free numbers are telephone numbers with distinct three-digit codes that can be dialed from landlines with no charge to the person placing the call. Such numbers allow callers to reach businesses and individuals out of the area without being charged a long-distance fee for the call.

i want to buy an 800 number

Toll free numbers are particularly common for customer-service calling. Toll free service has traditionally provided potential customers and others with a free and convenient way to contact businesses. Wireless callers, however, will be charged for the airtime minutes used during a toll free call unless they have an "unlimited calling" plan.

Toll free numbers are numbers that begin with one of the following three-digit codes: 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844 or 833. Although 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844 and 833 are all toll free codes, they are not interchangeable. Dialing a number using a 1-800 prefix would reach a different recipient than dialing that number using a 1-888 prefix. Calls to each toll free number are routed to a particular local telephone number.

The FCC assigns most toll free numbers on a first-come, first-served basis. Toll free subscribers choose entities called "Responsible Organizations" or "RespOrgs" to reserve numbers on their behalf and to manage and administer the appropriate records for the toll free subscribers. Many RespOrgs also provide toll free service. RespOrgs have access to a toll free database that contains information regarding the status of all toll free numbers. Somos, Inc., administrator of the toll free number database, certifies RespOrgs.

The FCC made certain numbers in the 833 toll free code available via an auction. The 833 Auction is an experiment to determine how to use competitive bidding to most effectively assign toll free numbers. For more information about the 833 Auction, visit

You can contact a RespOrg if you want to obtain a toll free number. If you need help locating a RespOrg, call or text the Somos Help Desk at 1-844-HEY SOMOS (1-844-439-7666), or visit www.somos.com/find-a-toll-free-number for assistance.

The FCC sets the rules for getting and using toll free numbers. The FCC requires that toll free numbers be portable, meaning that a subscriber can "port," or move, their number to a new RespOrg when changing service providers.

FCC rules prohibit RespOrgs from "warehousing" toll free numbers. A RespOrg may not legally reserve a toll free number without having an actual toll free subscriber for whom the number is being reserved. RespOrgs who warehouse numbers are subject to penalties.

Use the Microsoft Teams admin center. For some countries and regions, you can get numbers for your users using the Microsoft Teams admin center. See Get new phone numbers for your users.

Port your existing numbers. You can port or transfer existing numbers from your current service provider or phone carrier. For more information, see Transfer phone numbers to Teams or Manage phone numbers for your organization.

Use a request form for new numbers. Sometimes (depending on your country or region) you won't be able to get your new phone numbers using the Microsoft Teams admin center or you'll need specific phone numbers or area codes. For more information, see Manage phone numbers for your organization.

The number of phone numbers for users (subscribers) is equal to the total number of Domestic Calling Plan and International Calling Plan licenses you have assigned multiplied by 1.1, plus 10 additional phone numbers. For example, if you have 50 users in total with a Domestic Calling Plan and/or International Calling Plan, you can acquire 65 phone numbers (50 x 1.1 + 10). Note that if you have a Pay-As-You-Go Calling Plan, you can only acquire 1 phone number per license assigned.

If you need 999 or fewer phone numbers for your users, use the porting wizard in the Microsoft Teams admin center. Follow the steps in Transfer phone numbers to Teams. If you need assistance with this process, you can manually submit a port order or see Manage phone numbers for your organization to download the correct Letter of Authorization (LOA).

If you need to port more than 999 phone numbers, you can manually submit a port order or see Manage phone numbers for your organization to download the correct Letter of Authorization (LOA). Complete and sign the LOA documents, and then contact the TNS service desk for your region.

To port/transfer more than 999 phone numbers or if you experience issues with the porting process in the Microsoft Teams admin center, you can manually submit a port order to the TNS Service Desk for your region.

In the left navigation of the admin center, go to Voice > Phone numbers to view the numbers for your organization, including location, number type, and status information.

Your phone number should show up on the Registry the next day, but it can take up to 31 days for sales calls to stop. You can check whether your number is on the Registry at DoNotCall.gov or by calling 1-888-382-1222 from the number you want to verify.

The FTC also takes the phone numbers that you report called you and releases them each business day to help telecommunications carriers and other industry partners that are working on call-blocking and call-labeling solutions.

Yes. You can remove your number by calling 1-888-382-1222 from the phone you want to remove. Your number will be off the Registry the next day. Companies have to update their telemarketing lists within 31 days.

Individuals and families (up to 5 lines) who are currently under a postpaid contract at their current carrier (including AT&T or Verizon. Starting August 2, 2020, not available for port-ins from Sprint or Shentel.) and want to switch to T-Mobile can take advantage of the Early Termination Fee (ETF) reimbursement offer. Follow the steps below:

Yes, it is possible to keep the number you already have from another wireless or landline carrier. First, check if your existing number is eligible for transfer to T-Mobile. If it is, simply follow the on-screen instructions displayed during check-out to authorize the transfer. We'll do the rest. In rare circumstances, we are unable to transfer a number to our network. This is often because we don't have a transfer agreement with the original service provider. Be sure to keep your old phone and old account until your number is fully activated on your new account for seamless service. If you are interested in a prepaid phone and transferring your number to T-Mobile, visit your nearest T-Mobile store.

*SpencerLab Sept 2021 study of printer inks sold in North America commissioned by HP for on-average performance of 16 brands of non-HP refill, remanufactured, and imitation cartridges vs. Original HP Ink SKUs 952XL, 63XL, 902XL, 950XL, 951XL. To account for reliability-driven supplies issues, defective and failed cartridges were included in the page yield calculations. Consequently, the reported page yield numbers are not based on ISO/IEC 24711 standard methodology, as it requires defective supplies be excluded from page yield calculation.
