Military members and families including Admiral Paul Thomas, the Deputy Commandant for Mission Support (DCMS) were treated to a pregame gathering at the Devil's Backbone Lounge. Coast Guard members and families continued to be featured throughout the night. The first intermission saw mites on ice comprised of players from Navy Youth Hockey including the son of Captain Mark Neeland, the Chief of the Office of Commercial Vessel Compliance. During the second period, LT Jeff Sickoria, President of Coast Guard Hockey, was recognized for his service along with other service members by the Secretary of Defense, Hall of Famer, military brat, and Coast Guard father-in-law Rod Langway.

Thank you to the Washington Capitals and Monument Sports for their continued relationship with Coast Guard Hockey and the men and women of the US Armed Forces. Special thanks to Tim Bronaugh, the Director of Amateur Hockey Sales, whose father retired from the US Coast Guard.
